May 2022 | Two of Cups

To find your path you must find your ground. So often we are looking up, over, and away in search of the very things already in front of us or at least the very path in front of us ready and waiting to take us to where we most desire.

Manifestation and liberation are the two energy currents of the body as recognized by the chakra system. Through these blended realities, we ground and transcend simultaneously to both bring and release matter to and from the body.

Through the upward current of liberation, we transcend and release (upper chakras). This is commonly known as thinking, daydreaming, and planning or worrying, waiting, and wondering. While the downward current of manifestation grounds us and brings form to our lives both within and around us (lower chakras). This is known as relaxing, actualizing, and being or the opposites of unsettledness, stagnation, and fear.

Our society suggests liberation as the only means to live in this world and the grounding of manifestation to be timely, useless, and an unnecessary means to an end. Why be here when you can be there? This is evident throughout many of our cultures and teachings and the dogma to avoid the body through fasting, abstinence, and substances while favoring fast-paced days, transcendental experiences, and anything devoid of the now. Yet when you’re too high minded to acknowledge the minds that are higher than yours, it can feel lonely cutting us from whence we came. We begin to walk off the trail given to us in search of what we think is better as opposed to feeling into what already is.

The Two of Cups in tarot is a card of love, union, reconciliation, and partnership (the minor arcana of the major arcana The Lovers). This card quite literally is a dance between energetic dualities of any kind. As above so below, as within so without. To find what you are seeking you must first go within, and for many the first step is through the body. A reconciling of our mind, body, and spirit, which quite literally can manifest as a reconciliation between beings only through the liberation of each individual entity - two wholes merging in oneness.

With partnership of any kind, as the Two of Cups implies, you will know when it arrives.

When love arrives, you will be privy for love is simply knowing whom to choose. This knowing is first born by developing the love we seek first within ourselves. The dualistic nature of manifestation and liberation, grounding and transcending, lay the foundation to enter a union with our bodies and therefore with our spirit - the greatest knowledge there is - ever present oneness. A spirit with no body to call home is merely a ghost seeking wholeness through haunting others. Why not claim this life that has already been given to you and exist rather than escape?

This is where reality and dream merge. Think of one thing you desire. Now think of how part of this desire is already present in your life. Where can union of present and future take place for this desire to actualize now? What one thing can you do? Try marrying dreaming and being to birth all you desire. Make way for liberation and manifestation and allow the paradox to be. Make waves, and play in them….ripples of energy become manifested density and in turn your destiny.

Many blessings…
