September 2019 | An Ode to the Equinox
If grey is a mix of black and white
Then can we give credit to the individual colors themselves
Or must all things in life be complicated.
Confused. Foggy. Grey.
When they’d be better served
Black and white
Many will define the harvest as a grey period
A mixing. Melding. Molding.
The wind kicking up as the leaves change
To hurry them along to their
Final resting place
But even there in that final place
Where the golden leaves lay
A flicker of life still emanates
A place where the composting chooses
A color. A new form to become.
A choice of black and white
No longer grey
This is a testament
To the seasons of life
Earth’s metaphor herself present
In each and every one of us
Things. People. Places. Time. However elusive
Take on a shape
Even as days. Weeks. Months. Years. May go by
These instances fade to grey and fester
Only to return in another form
Like a feeling masked by a new emotion
Viewed with fresh perspective
A new state of mind
What in your life is changing?
What grey areas could use a little more tinting or shading?
What would happen if you defined these colors?
If your wonderment and worry were just spirit pushing you to unpack
things a little deeper?
Go there. Define it.
Make it your own.
Define the things in your life
Whether they are meant to stay or go
Move out of the grey zone
Give your own ode to the equinox
In accordance with the Earth’s changes
Let the even split of light paint your world
Black and white
September + Equinox blessings…
